Food.
What pops into your mind when you hear the word, food? Growing up, images of fruits and vegetables from our garden and helping my father make dinner were at the top of my mind. As time went by, I left home for college and those images started to change. By the time I left college those images had morphed into pizza, ice cream and being alone in a restaurant trying to eat quickly and get back to work. I didn’t see the connection that change had made on my life or the 60 pound physical change that I had gained while working my way through school. There was always something else to focus on and food never seemed that important compared to work or family emergencies.
I realized that there’s always going to be “important” things, work, distractions, and emergencies. Maybe I was ignoring something central to my health and happiness. Food. So, I began my road back to food, to health and to a greater connection within my community.
Come with me on the road back to food!
